Halong Tourism Festival Week 2011 (Updated)

The main activities of the Festival Week include: Halong Carnaval, Unveiling Light Art Performance Center, Conference on voting campaign for Halong Bay to become one of the UNESCO world’s natural wonders, The best MC on Halong Bay contest, Music and poetry night on Halong, Open Quang Ninh tennis tournament and Classical music concert in Dau Go Cave.

The highlight of the festival is Halong Carnalval, divided into 3 parts: Opening Ceremony, Art Performance, Carnaval Parade and Masquerade.

Halong Carnaval will take place at 8PM, on 1^st May 2011, at the very center of Bai Chay, provincial tourism area.

All these activities focus primarily on propaganda, promoting the image of Quang Ninh’s tourism and calling for voting Halong Bay as one of the 7 new natural Wonders of the world.

Besides, some other tourism areas as Mong Cai, Uong Bi will also have cultural, sport and tourism activities to respond the Ha Long Tourism Festival Week.

Halong Bay was first recognized by UNESCO in 1994 as World Natural Heritage Site with universal aesthetic value, and again in 2000 for its unique geomorphic value.
